Friday's UJ Talk (August 2nd) was hosted by Mamolefe Molefe and guest speaker Mulekah Kabongo on Personal Branding.
In our current society, personal branding is usually defined by how many followers, mentions and tags people get on social media platforms. Therefore, personal branding is mainly defined through online activities. However, it was within this talk where we demolished that one-sided view and discussed the main elements any individual needs in order to set and maintain a strong personal brand.
Self-love; Communication Skills (Networking and Collaborating); Authenticity and Consistency were therefore the main four tiers discussed in regards to personal branding. These tiers highlight how offline activity is just as vital as online activity in order to set a powerful personal brand. Mulekah assisted in the talk by discussing her personal experiences in the industry with her brands Jiggy Afrikan and Kah Creations.
